I know I was disappointed by the call and it partly has to do with the Griezmann play before and also the fact that it was the world cup final... Rule of thumb is if it's 50/50 and you're not sure, don't call it. Especially if it's a decisive call in the final. Thing I don't understand about VAR, the ref is already going over to make the decision, why doesn't someone in the booth mention, "hey you fd up on the free kick it was a dive, just know if you give this call as well, you're massively influencing the game in one teams favor. Two calls of that caliber are almost impossible to overcome.
It could've been an epic game, Croatia was dominant on the ball for 60 minutes but chasing two goals, especially ones off bad calls is nearly impossible to do at that level. I stopped watching after the third France goal. Croatia had spent all their energy through previous games then trying to play catch up was too much. I thought they deserved more of a chance and I wanted to see France tested but everything went their way. I think they would've had the better chance to win either way but Croatia was really bringing it, it was sad to watch them go down that way after all that effort.
