massive right hand, god damn

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUINF6Watic" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUINF6Watic</a>

full fight

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzvtNCX3vP8" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzvtNCX3vP8</a>

some of those shots were low.. definitely a bad stoppage especially considering he took some low shots.. but that right hand wasn't a good sign that kovalev was going to pull that fight out.

I just got back yesterday, I was looking for the replay couldn't find but ran into the results FML EVEN MORE. Those damn news sites that like to pop up to show recent news of that fight. fuk them. It read "Ward stops kovalev in 8" so i was like fuck it and looked on video sites.

The videos below unavailable but found a full fight video.

Good start, kovalev was controlling the fight better, ward got in those moments but kovalev was controlling with his jab in the last round that beastly right hard i think from ward with kovalev coming in really hurt him. btw i found a video with sky sports as broadcaster which malignaggi as the commentator.

Malignaggi was saying all the shots that ward hit was low. on boxing short you have 2 areas, the belt, white stripe across the top of the shorts and the area below it. Ward was hitting some on that white area and others it was below and kovalev is just so unprofessional. When he got hit with the first low blow he leant forward and ref saw this low blow and gave him time and everytime ward hit him in that area he would lean forward and risk getting hit, everytime he leans forward to indiicate he got hurt even though the ref didn't see. The last seconds of the stoppage, true he got hit with a power shot and andre ward just attacking low on the belt and below (the belt being the white band top of the shorts) and kovalev just stayed leant forward as ward just getting those shots in and then the stupidest thing happens is the ref moves ward away and just stops the fight like wtf you doing.

what will happen now to kovalev's career and max kellerman was praising ward and rejecting the notion of the low, even in the replay he hit below the belt and kellerman say's borderline lol it's a conspiracy lol.

   - acceleration: low heel recovery, shin angle low, drive legs back before hitting the ground and drive thighs/knee forward not up

dude.. i'm in disbelief that people keep saying all of those blows were borderline/fine: most of them were LOW.

most of those were clearly low and devastatingly low at that.. Max even convinced Kovalev to say they were borderline at the end, when Kovalev had previously said (during the same interview) that they were low.

It looks like Ward was on his way to ending Kovalev but god damn he took some low shots to finish that fight.. It seems that everyone just wants to imagine there's complete closure now, by disregarding the fact that Ward hit him low like 4 times to finish that fight. I mean, I don't want to see Kovalev/Ward III so...

Just shocking that people would say those were mostly legal shots.

Insanity.

At least Malignaggi is keeping it real..

As for Kovalev's reaction, it's hard to react voluntarily when you get hit low .. it's like a shockwave through your nervous system. I'm sure Kovalev was wrecked by a few of those low shots. He should have taken a knee then complained, not just stayed on the ropes. His decision to not go down was the bad decision imho, he should have gone way down and then complained like a motherfucker.

Good explanation of how kovalev should have gone about the low blow's from andre ward like you said, take a knee and then complain.

Nice vid. Kovalev really messed up, but he was pretty much toast anyway. Porter has the gift of gab.

I watched the entire fight man and it was an embarrassing decision. Boxing is a great sport but the people at the top are ruining it with their promotional bs. I don't understand why they insist on making it less of a sport and more entertainment to have it play out a certain way.

Best part was Steven A. Smith just going off on the decision and speaking his mind on how much of a joke it was. A lot of good points made on why UFC is becoming more popular and boxing is on the decline.

OMG  :raging:  :raging: I hate pacquiao now, he is just too old and just nothing left of him.

Man horn suprised me, he was moving alot, his head movement was exagerated and that worked and horn jumped into pacquiao and just messed him apart. A majority of horn's shots just got passed pacquiao's defence.

Althought the headbutts, which pacquiao got 2 massive shots on the head really long and deep.

Pacquiao peformed very very very badly, he had the occasional onslaughts got the hits, but he just was performing badly, he had no fire, no guts, it was like 100% caution no risk taken, I just am so mad at pacquiao even though it is just his age.

But horn is so poweful and managed to crack into pacquiao, the uppercuts.

props to horn.  I feel that because of horn's excessive head movements made it hard for pacquiao because pacquiao is looking for a target but if it's moving pacquiao finds it difficult to unleash his combo.

There was a moment in the fight where horn was gassed and was just a sitting duck and pacquiao took him but couldn't knock him, but he did give him a beating that the ref warned horn that if he does not show he can still hold his own he will stop the fight and horn ended up winning the next round.

But horn did win fair and square, anyone who says its was a bad decision, didn't watch the fight or his enitre focus was on pacquiao. I love pacquiao but i didn't see anything special from pacquiao, no risks no combos no nothing and that left himself open to horns powerful and precise shots.

I watched the boxnation version and the american version espn were favouring pacquiao and would make their commentary to claim that pacquiao is winning, i have seen this with hbo too such as ward vs kovalev, so have to becareful when listening to these commentary. ofc espn would say such stuff they were giving pacquiao unfair assessment of being in the lead when he wasn't.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVHgepTmjTs" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVHgepTmjTs</a>

Just to sum up if I can, pacquiao's age showed he didn't do any agressive combos, angles but horn had good head movements and powerful hits that sometimes I question if pacquiao is letting them through or what. Pacquiao's defence was average at best if not below.

 :uhhhfacepalm:

Pacquiao should retire or prove that the first fight was a mistake and beat him badly in the rematch.

why pacquiao why??  :'( I was eager to watch him fight then I see this and I start to dislike pacquiao as the rounds progress.
I just do not understand.

mass brainwash into thinking it was controversial decision sprouting from espn. who ever watch espn would think pacquiao won cos of the biased commentary (cough hbo and us broadcasters) I was boxnation so I think it was neutral but then again they may have been biased towards horn, which I didn't sense alot of.

3 judges, 2 from us and 1 from argentina. I would agree with 115-113 to horn.

Dudes. Just saw the fight.

Horn winning that is not at all controversial IMHO. That was nowhere near a robbery like people are saying. That was a brutal, dirty fight. Honestly I had Horn winning 7-5 or a draw 6-6. If you were a judge LIVE at that fight, the aggression of Horn could have easily caused you to give him more rounds than Pacquiao.

Everyone all over the net, including boxing analysts, need to realize Pacquiao barely jabbed and NEVER went to the body. Pacquiao lost that fight himself. You don't box a bull by just throwing straights and hooks.

Pacquiao is an elite fighter & he didn't show it one bit. He showed heart, but not smarts. No jab, no body attack, absolutely horrible strategy by Pacquiao who probably thought there's no way he wouldn't be able to KO Horn.. and it came back to bite him bad.

why pacquiao why??  :'( I was eager to watch him fight then I see this and I start to dislike pacquiao as the rounds progress.

Completely agree with the "announcers" swaying people. That was a very close fight. One of the announcers (I forget who it was) was keeping it real, he said it was very close.

Pacquiao had a chance to get Horn out of there in the 9th & subsequent rounds, but Horn somehow came right back & stayed in it.. I mean the ref came up to him in the corner and told him he was going to stop it. Horn comes right out and makes it a fight again.

I don't like Horn's style at all.. He's a spaz & he's dirty as fuck. But he has HEART that's for sure. This dude dug deep and keep pushing Pacquiao to his limits.

Hardly controversial IMHO. Calling this a robbery, is an injustice to *REAL* boxing robberies.  :ninja:

UFC has robberies just like Boxing.. lmao! UFC is a monopoly where they control the entire narrative. Boxing is decentralized. I've seen horrendous robberies in both sports, but at least boxing is decentralized which gives it less risk than UFC, since in boxing there are multiple title belts per weight class & different promotions/promoters (HBO/SHOWTIME) etc. When people say "MMA" now, they mean UFC. That's not healthy IMHO.

https://www.tapology.com/rankings/771-the-all-time-worst-robberies-in-mma-history

I've seen quite a few of those.. atrocious robberies.

There's lists like that for MMA & boxing, both sports need to improve judging.. but fighters in the end have the solution: don't let it go to the judges.
