Great recap. Though, I was rooting for the old guy (Klitz)
Klitchko's round 5 comeback was definitely because of a counter + Joshua punching himself out.. How Joshua was able to recover, I have no idea. That almost never happens in heavyweight boxing.. When those guys punch themselves out, it's just a downward spiral until they are toast. We witnessed Joshua get better, in that very fight. He came in at X level, and left at X * 2 level. Incredible heart by both fighters.
Klitchko just couldn't keep his foot on the gas and try to get Joshua out of there because Joshua's power is too legit. He couldn't get sloppy.. That hesitation definitely helped Joshua recover.
Best HW fight i've seen in ages.. I knew this fight was going to be good, but I was very worried about Klitchko. Once I saw him get floored in 5, I really thought "here we go, the end is near". No one survives an Anthony Joshua onslaught like that. Honestly, it's probably alot like surviving a knockdown from Tyson in his prime.. Who does that? Buster did it, and came back to KO Iron Mike in the biggest upset I can remember. Just shows you how much heart Joshua has.. He's not someone, who once he finds himself up against someone equal or better, folds. Legit++
And man I love Joshua's post-fight interviews. So much respect. He often thanks everyone who fought on the entire card, winners & losers.
epic.
