I'm disappointed with my man Ben Simmons this playoffs. I guess it turns out that having absolutely no jumpshot is not so good in today's NBA. I read this stat somewhere on RealGM about his jumpshot this season vs his rookie season:
Jump shots outside of 10ft:
Rookie season: 31% on 187 attempts
This season: 20% on 87 attempts
I've never seen a player regressing so badly on such a glaring weakness from rookie to sophomore season. Bizarre given how crucial it is to unlocking his offensive game.
(Having said all that, the Sixers drive me crazy and I'm hoping they get squashed by the Raps, hehe).
damn that's nuts.
i wouldn't mind it as much, if somehow his freethrow percentage wasn't so awful.
if he was determined to get to the rim, and either score, dish, or get fouled (and shoot a high percentage), it'd be fine.
but the fact that his FT % is so awful, means you can basically hack-a-shaq him.
he played great tonight. attacked the rim like a madman. even without the J, he's a threat. that's skills. if he had a J, man o man.. but, if his free throw percentage was decent, even that would open up his offense without shooting J's. just no confidence shooting i guess.
