Pain in high bar squatting

I'm now trying to change my low bar squat to a high bar so that I could olympic squat more properly. The problem is, it hurts so much. Will the pain vanish as like how the pain in early low bar positioning gives after some time? Or will it not? Giving a conclusion that some are really born to do high bar squatting?

Do you mean pain on your upper back?

Yes, the pain will completely vanish. I used to do 405 completely pain free.

What you should do every now and then to get used to the positioning, is keep ramping up the weight on the bar but don't squat; just unrack it and hold for 20sec sets. Go up to your 1RM and try to unrack that for 20sec. You will get very used to the weight.

You can do this every time you're in the gym. It doesn't have to be only on squat days. In fact, it doesn't even have to be on workout days. Even days where you're just playing basketball, try it out.

well i['m high bar squatting since i lack mass for low bar and also its not comfortable, shoulders quite stiff.

high abr yes pain ill vanish. if ur already doign upper body shoulder work it'd help especially when the time under tension is long for certain sets and reps scheme .

tbh my upper back feels tired more and sometimeeeees a little numb at my rear delts if the bar is on my back too long(normally when i  push my 6/7RM to 8reps) rather than "pain". however i did 5rm yesterday, and got stuck for a sec on the way up in squats which should've gone smoothly without being stuck in any point of the squat. that really prolonged the time of tension, especially with the amount of weight. now i'm feeling that bone soreness when i first high bar squatted, except it's not the whole line on my back but just around the rear delts. gotta focus on tensing my back next time though.

but to cut the crap, you should be fine dont worry:) 2-3sessions into it and u should be fine

Dreyth, ya on my traps where I put the bar. It's just so painful. Thanks for your replies, Dreyth and PointerRyan!! I really appreciate it! i thought the pain wouldn't go! Hehehe.

Okay I learned a new thing to teach to my gym friends! Thanks again! I'll do as you recommend, ramping the weight up every time I go inside the gym! Thanks again! I found new hope.  :headbang: :headbang: :)
