Target training paces (min/km), calculated from 5K PR 22:49 :
Easy run : 5:48
Tempo run : 4:50
VO2-max run :4:21
Speed form run : 4:02

---

it's the biggest trick in the run game.. go slow to go fast. it doesn't make sense until it smacks you in the face and you're like ....... wtf?

cool vid.

My lower leg form base of heel to top of calf, measured with a 90 degree knee bend is about 33cm. From base of heel to bottom of calf, hence top of achilles, is 19-20 cm. Heel is 2cm. so my achilles length is about 17-18cm, and achilles + calf = 31cm.

I don't know how that stands with averages, but I definitely don't have extremely high calves like someblack people, but definitely not low calves. They're somewhat high though.

And my one footed jump has a huge knee bend almost like a lunge

But I've seen other black people jump with less knee bend so i don't know. Sch as james white

"Performance during stretch-shortening cycle exercise is influenced by the visco-elastic properties of the muscle-tendon units. During stretching of an activated muscle, mechanical energy is absorbed in the tendon structures (tendon and aponeurosis) and this energy can subsequently be re-utilized if shortening of the muscle immediately follows the stretching. According to Biscotti (2000), 72% of the elastic energy restitution action comes from tendons, 28% - from contractile elements of muscles.

Yes but the degree of knee bend doesn't all lie on the length of the achilles. There is a myriad of factors that get into play.
Current PR status:

All time squat: 165 kg/Old age squat: 130 kg
All time deadlift: 184 kg/Old age deadlift: 140 kg
All time bench: 85 kg/Old age bench: 70kgx5reps
All time hip thrust (same as old age hip thrust): 160kgx5reps

cuz i'm being nice. I don't know who harvey is but he is asking a question, and everyone else is being a bitch.
I never said that achilles tendon length has anything to do with knee bend..

I said I have average achilles tendon length (probably), andhuge knee bend. James White, a black dude, with long achilles tendon, does not have much knee bend in 1 footed jump... i didn't make any conclusion I offered my thoughts. happy to repeat everything I said i nthe first post..
